How to Use Castor Oil

Learn about the best skin care uses for castor oil from organic beauty products expert Spirit Demerson in this Howcast natural beauty video.

Castor oil is great for the skin and it’s actually a great skin cleanser, which surprises a lot of people because you can actually cleanse the skin with oil. In fact, water does not remove oil from the skin; oil does. Castor oil is becoming a lot more popular as a skin cleanser because it works for both extremely oily and breakout-prone skin and for extra dry skin. To use castor oil as a skin cleanser you’re literally just massaging into your skin all over, applying a hot wet face cloth over that, allowing the steam to help loosen any dirt and debris in the pores and allowing the castor oil to penetrate as well and as you’re rinsing it away the castor oil lifts away all the dirt and debris with it leaving your skin clean but also balanced and hydrated. You may see castor oil at the supermarket next to your vegetable oils and things like that; that’s probably not the best castor oil that you want to use for your skin. You want to use a pure organic naturally-refined castor oil that you could find at a natural health food store or from someone who is selling it especially for use on the skin online.
