When we think of aloe vera, of course we think of it as this age old remedy for sunburns. In fact that is backed up by science, aloe vera has been shown to reduce the duration of wound healing from burns and scrapes. Aloe vera’s also an excellent skin moisturizer. It’s oil free so it’s much more comfortable to use, especially in warmer climates, in the summertime when putting oil on, the skin doesn’t feel as comfortable. It is also anti aging as a skin moisturizer, because it helps promote cellular regeneration. There are a lot of products that are called aloe vera gel that actually are not aloe vera gel. Aloe vera gel comes directly from the nectar of the aloe vera cactus plant. When you’re looking for aloe vera gel to use directly on the skin, you want to make sure that it is one-hundred percent pure. Also look for moisturizers that contain aloe vera gel as a base ingredient, rather than water for that extra level of hydration.
