How to Make Black Forest Whoopie Pies: Making the Batter

Learn how to make the batter for black forest whoopie pies in this Howcast cooking video. INGREDIENTS: For the dried cherries: 1 c. dried cherries, ½ c. cherry liquor. Chocolate Whoopie Pie: 2 c. all purpose flour, ½ c. cocoa powder, ¾ teaspoon baking soda, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ c. sugar, ½ c. light brown sugar, 1/3 c. canola oil, 3 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, ½ cup plain yogurt. Black Forest Whoopie Pie Filling: 4 oz cream cheese (room temperature), 5 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature), 1 tbsp cherry liquor, 1/8 tsp salt, 3 c. confectioner's sugar (plus extra - just in case).
