Black Forest Whoopie Pie Filling: 4 ounces cream cheese (room temperature), 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature), 1 tablespoon cherry liquor such as Kirsch, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 3 cups confectioner's sugar (plus extra - just in case).
