Edwin: How to do a bachata slide. So we’re going to start with the basic step, five, six, seven tap; one, two, three tap and slide, six, seven tap; one, two, three tap and slide, six, seven tap. So what you want to make sure is you take three steps, one, two, three. You tap and here you’re going to open up your foot, open and drag in the other leg, five, six, seven and tap. Now let’s try this one on the back side. Five, six, seven tap; one, two, three tap, five, six, seven tap. One, two, three tap, five, six, seven.

Daniela: Five, six, seven. Ladies, make sure you’re using your arms, using styles anyway you like.

Edwin: And gentlemen, same thing for us. One, two, three tap, five, six, seven tap and one, two, three tap and five, six, seven tap. Now let’s demonstrate this with our partner. Gentlemen, we’re going to start in closed position. We’re going to take three steps, and one, two, three. Here we’re going to bring our hands up.

This is how we’re going to prepare the ladies, and now we’re going to slide, five, six, seven tap. So remember you’re tapping before and after the slide. Let’s try this slowly. Five, six, seven and one, two, three tap slide six, seven tap. One, two, three tap slide, six, seven. One more time, one, two, three tap and slide six, seven tap. Now let’s try this with music. So notice gentlemen, my hand goes up on four. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven tap. One, two, three, four, five.

Daniela: Ladies, really pick your time on that slide, one, two, three, four.

Edwin: And that is how you do the bachata slide.
