11 Things Every Parent Should Keep in the Car

Learn the 11 things that every parent should keep in their car in this parenting video from Howcast.

Hi. I’m Jennifer Durbin, and I’ve got a shortlist of things that you cannot leave the house without. These are things that you need to keep in the car, no matter where you’re going.

If you’re going on a long trip or just running some quick errands around town, you always want to have an extra diaper, some wipes, and a changing pad in the car; because you never know when you might be out, not have the diaper bag handy, or run out of diapers. So it’s always good to keep an extra one in the car.

You also want to have a first aid kit for any bumps and bruises while you’re on the run, and some hand sanitizer is helpful too. Snacks are a good idea as well, just in case you get stuck somewhere; in traffic, waiting for someone’s dance recital to end, or whatever. Handy snacks are very helpful.

You also want to make sure you have a bottle and any formula, if your child is still drinking formula. And a blanket is a good idea, especially in winter. Consider having a whole extra set of clothes in the car. If you get stranded in the snow, you definitely want to have extra hats and gloves, things like that. And in the summer, you might want to have a sun hat handy, just in case you get stuck somewhere.
