All right guys, now I want to show you another variation of the Kimura. It was invented by Jacare and he’s done it in. Really, really interesting Kimura. The great thing about it is that you don’t have to open your guard and hip out. It’s really wonderful. I like to use it in a position that is part of my game called the Rat Guard, but you can use it in any position where you have broken his posture. Excellent Kimura. Let’s see it from the Rat Guard first. I break his posture down, control, and I’m here in the Rat Guard. Now, I grab his wrist and watch how we do it. See, I didn’t open my guard. Let’s go through the details. I’m here, breaking his posture. Because I’m in this angle, I already have that angle in order to submit him and I don’t have to open my guard. If you’re not in the Rat Guard, you want to just push his head over and grab. Now, a lot of times he will try to grab his thigh here. We don’t want that.
So, the way you stop that is by lifting your hips a little. Chad, grab your thigh. See, he can’t reach. Now, I’m going to stretch my legs as far as I can. The whole idea is you stretch your legs this way, and you stretch his arm this way. Like every Kimura, you want to be tight. Not this. Clamp it down to your body. You should be able to touch your chin to the elbow. You should not be up here. This is wrong.
This is where he gets out, okay? Here. Motorcycle. Try to straighten your arm, Chad. Hips up. Try to lift it. Stretch the leg, stretch the elbow. The elbow goes that way, his body goes that way. Opposite directions. One more time. If he’s really flexible and you can’t finish him, you can start pushing his arm up to a higher degree, but when you do that, don’t lift the elbow. The elbow stays tight and clamped to your body. One more time. Rat, lift your hips, stretch, finish. And that’s the Jacare Kimura from the Rat Guard.
