A high-quality protein smoothie can serve as an excellent breakfast drink or a healthy snack after a good workout. Of course, you don’t need an excuse to enjoy one—you just need a blender.
Peel the banana, break it into chunks, and add them to the blender.
Add the milk and yogurt.
Whole milk and flavored yogurt will make your smoothie extra delicious, but they add extra calories. Use skim milk and light yogurt if this is a concern.
Add the whey protein.
Always check the product label for the proper recommended amount.
Blend at a low to medium speed until the mixture is slushy.
Add fruit like blueberries, strawberries, or peach slices for flavor and vitamins.
Blend on low to medium speed until the mixture is smooth.
Pour the drink into a large glass—or a travel tumbler for your sporty lifestyle.
Whey protein comes from cow’s milk and is a “complete” protein, meaning it contains all the required amino acids.

Where do you get whey protein?

You can typically get whey protein at health food stores (ie Whole Foods). There are many brands out there, and some of them seem to be not great, carrying way too many preservatives. We have heard great things about Jay Robb's line, which you can order online: http://www.jayrobb.com/jayRobbProtein.asp
