While one lucky punch may drop your opponent to the mat, using punches in combination with each other is a surefire way to wear him down fast.

With gloves on, stand in your boxer’s stance with your lead leg forward, your lead hand protecting your face and your weight on your back foot. Your non-lead hand should be in striking position.

Throw quick, abrupt punches such as a jab, hook, or uppercut in rapid succession.
Hold your guard up to protect yourself.
Recover fully after each punch.
Fast does not mean furious. Don’t throw wild, uncontrolled punches.
