You Will Need
- A good sense of humor
- A fabulous dress or tux
- The ability to talk quickly
Steps
-
Step 1
Commit to having a good time no matter what
Circumstances have deemed that you won’t have a date for the prom. Time to accept the fact and commit yourself to having a good time no matter what.
-
Step 2
Look good
Look good. Just because you’re going alone is no reason to give up on fashion.
-
Step 3
Go with a friend
Go with your best friend who doesn’t have a date either. You can commiserate and make fun of everyone together.
-
Step 4
Ask your best friend for help
If your best friend has a date, go with the two of them. Chances are you’re all pretty chummy to start with, and now you can split the cost of the limo. This is where your bff earns that second 'f.'
-
Step 5
Volunteer to help out
If you don’t want to have to find things to do while other people are dancing or losing their virginity, you can always volunteer at the snack table.
-
Step 6
Dance
Dance, dance, dance… You might as well have a good time!
-
Step 7
Watch for prom wreckage
Keep your eyes peeled for prom wreckage—these are the breakups that invariably happen on prom night. Some major fun can be had on the rebound.
-
Step 8
Sit on the side
Sit on the side, watch the ridiculous unfold, and count all the people you’re so glad you didn’t go to the prom with.
