Driving on the highway with the a/c on they say you loose 1mpg. Driving on the highway with your windows open you also lose 1mpg they say because its less aerodynamic. This is merely speculation at this point, It's just something I heard that makes sense.
Hybrids DO NOT save you money! You will have to keep them at least 5 to 6 years just to break even on the higher price you paid for it. Then when you have to change the batteries, and YES, you will HAVE to CHANGE THE BATTERIES, they will cost you anywhere from $7000.00 to $9000.00 depending on the model. And this is at 2008 dollar values. SO overall, HYBRIDS ARE A SCAM.
