How to Tie a Tie with a Half Windsor Knot
It won't take half the time that a full Windsor knot does, but it is slightly less complicated and works well when you're in a rush.

You Will Need
- A necktie
- A dress shirt
- A mirror
Steps

Step 1
Lift up collar
Lift up the collar of your shirt.

Step 2
Button top button
Button the top button of your shirt.

Drape tie around neck
Drape the tie around your neck with the wider end of the tie on your right. It should be dangling about 12 inches below the skinny end of the tie, or more if you're tall. The seam should be facing your shirt.

Cross wide end over skinny end
Cross the wide end toward the left over the front of the skinny end of your tie.

Direct wide behind skinny end
Direct the wide end around behind the skinny end and pull it out front.

Pass wide end through loop
Bring the wide end up and pass it through the loop around your neck to the right of the knot and pull it straight down. The seam of the wide end should now be facing out.

Bring wide end from left to right
Take the wide end and bring it from left to right around the front of the knot.

Step 8
Pass wide end through loop
Bring the wide end behind the knot from the right and pass it up through the loop around your neck.

Thread wide end through knot
Thread the wide end through the front of the knot and pull it down to tighten.

Step 10
Tighten tie
Tighten the tie around your neck by holding the skinny end of the tie and sliding the knot toward your neck.

Put collar down & adjust
Put your collar down and make any final adjustments. Looking sharp!
