How To Make a Singapore Sling
Enjoy a taste of the Orient with a Singapore sling.
Instructions
- Step 1: Pour gin, brandy, and Cointreau Pour an ounce and a half of gin, half an ounce of cherry-flavored brandy, and a quarter of an ounce of Cointreau into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Step 2: Add Benedictine and juice Add a quarter of an ounce of Benedictine, four ounces of pineapple juice, and half an ounce of lime juice.
- TIP: The drier liqueur B&B can be substituted for Benedictine.
- Step 3: Add grenadine and bitters Add a third of an ounce of grenadine and a dash of bitters. Shake vigorously.
- Step 4: Strain into a glass Strain the contents of the shaker into an ice-filled Collins glass.
- Step 5: Garnish with cherry and pineapple Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of pineapple. Cheers!
- FACT: The Singapore sling was created in 1915 by a bartender at the world-famous Long Bar in Singapore’s Raffles Hotel.
