How to Make Lasagna
For a warm and hearty meal, try this simple lasagna recipe.
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit while you brown the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain, and return it to the skillet.
- TIP: Make a vegetarian version by substituting roasted vegetables for the meat.
- Step 2: Combine half the mozzarella cheese, half the parmesan cheese, and the ricotta cheese with parsley and egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and set it aside.
- Step 3: Add the spaghetti sauce to the meat in the skillet. Fill the empty sauce jar with a cup of water, replace the lid, and shake well. Pour the water into the meat mixture and stir.
- TIP: Make the meat sauce in advance and store it in a closed container in the refrigerator.
- Step 4: Cover the bottom of the baking dish with 1 cup meat sauce. Spread a layer of three noodles and one-third of the cheese mixture. Repeat this process for two more layers. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Step 5: Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil. Bake it for 45 minutes, and then remove the foil. Continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until heated through.
- Step 6: Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it stand for 15 minutes. Cut into 12 squares, and serve.
- FACT: The average North American eats more than 15 pounds of pasta each year.
