How to Eat Beetles

Instructions
- Step 1: Make dry-roasted beetles Make dry-roasted beetles. Place clean, frozen beetles on a baking sheet.
- Step 2: Bake for 1-3 hours Bake them in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 1 to 3 hours, until they're crispy. Then crush them with a spoon and add them to your favorite soup.
- Step 3: Make rootworm dip Make rootworm beetle dip. Mix cottage cheese, lemon juice, and skim milk in a bowl.
- Step 4: Add ingredients Add the mayonnaise, parsley, onion, dill weed, Beau Monde, and dry roasted beetles.
- TIP: You can find Beau Monde in the spice section.
- Step 5: Mix and refrigerate Mix well and refrigerate. Spread the dip on crackers and enjoy.
- Step 6: Make popcorn crunch Make popcorn crunch. Place the butter and honey in a small saucepan and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
- Step 7: Mix popcorn, insects, and butter mixture Put the popcorn and insects in a medium bowl, pour the butter mixture on top, and mix.
- Step 8: Bake for 10-15 minutes Spread the popcorn on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes, or until crisp. The kids will love it.
- FACT: The African goliath beetle is the largest and heaviest beetle, weighing in at a quarter of a pound.
