How to Make Wild Rice Stuffing

Dried cranberries and nuts add great flavor to this healthy and delicious wild rice stuffing.


  • Step 1: Saute onions and garlic Saute the onions and garlic in the butter until tender, about four minutes. Then add the chicken broth and bring it to a boil.
  • Step 2: Add rice Add the long grain rice, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes. Then add the brown rice, re-cover, and simmer until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 30 minutes.
  • Step 3: Add parsley, cranberries, thyme Add the parsley, cranberries, and the thyme to the rice. Then cover again and cook until all of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Step 4: Add onions and hazelnuts Mix in the green onions and hazelnuts.
  • TIP: Try using pecans instead of hazelnuts.
  • Step 5: Put into baking dish Put the stuffing into a baking dish, and cover it with aluminum foil.
  • Step 6: Place in oven Place the stuffing in a preheated oven set at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes. Serve the stuffing as a side with turkey or ham.

  • 1 1/2 c. hazelnuts
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans
