Instructions
- Step 1: Brown almonds Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it is melted and frothy. Add almonds to the butter to toast.
- Step 2: Prep rice Rinse the rice thoroughly. Pour rice and chicken broth into a rice cooker.
- Step 3: Add spices and apples Add the butter and almonds, apple, onion, celery, poultry seasoning, thyme, and pepper to the rice cooker. Stir to combine and seal the lid.
- Step 4: Turn cooker on Turn on the rice cooker to cook.
- TIP: Do not open the rice cooker while the cooking cycle is still running. The steam you will release is part of the cooking process.
- Step 5: Cook Allow the stuffing to cook in the rice cooker until it shuts itself off, for approximately 20 minutes.
- Step 6: Release pressure Remove from heat and release the pressure on the cooker.
- Step 7: Check spices Taste the stuffing to check the spices. Add any additional seasonings if desired. Pour into a serving dish and proudly display your culinary talents.
- FACT: In 1679, Denis Papin, a French physicist and mathematician, invented the pressure cooker, which exploded during a demonstration at the Royal Society in London.
