How to Prepare for Motherhood

Finding out that you are pregnant is an exciting time. Prepare yourself for motherhood and your new journey by being physically and emotionally ready.

  • Step 1: Prepare your body Prepare your body physically and emotionally by exercising. Walking, swimming, and yoga are great choices.

  • Step 5: Attend a prenatal class Attend a prenatal class to help you focus on your pregnancy and inform you about hospital procedures and pain relief, and to answer any questions you forget to ask your doctor.
  • TIP: Prenatal classes are a great opportunity for your husband or partner to get involved.
  • Step 6: Take time to relax Take time to relax and recharge by taking a long bath, reading a book, or talking on the phone with a friend.
