"Okay we're up to E major 7 as a bar chord. So it sounds funny but I'm gonna use the E major 7 open shape in order to make E major 7 as a barre chord. So how do I do that? Well, I'm gonna switch around my fingers to get that first finger free. Right, same chord still. And in order to make this a barre chord I'm gonna go all the way to the 12th fret. That's where the guitar starts again, right? So I have my barre at the 12th. I still have my E major 7 shape, but now I've turned it into a barre chord. So this is E major 7 as a barre chord.
And now the next way I could do it is with an A major 7 shape. Right, here it is as an open chord. I'm just gonna flip that around so my first finger is free. I'm gonna move that to the 7th fret, that's where E is. And so my barre is at the 7th, I have the A major 7 shape, and that's E major 7 as a barre chord.
