How about the adjectives, such as, American? A woman is American. A man is American. But in Spanish, that has to change, according to the gender.

So, a woman is americana.

A man is americano.

Americana.

That goes for all the nationalities.

Italiano is an Italian man.

Italiana is an Italian woman.

Or anything Italian is feminine, like food.

Comida italiana.
