How to Get the Most Out of Tennis Lessons

Learn how to get the most out of lessons from tennis pro Angelina Zdorovytska in this Howcast video.

Hi, my name is Angelina Zdorovytska. Right now we're in the beautiful city of Los Angeles in Beverly Hills. I started playing tennis when I was 7 years old. I was ranked number 1 tennis player in the Ukraine. 350 in the world ranking. I run my own business; it's I train very good players. Also, I train beginners, intermediate players. Tennis is my life and my passion. I live for it and now I would like to talk to you about tennis. I'd like to tell you how to take the most out of a tennis lesson. First of all, you need to get proper clothing. You need to have proper shoes and tennis clothes or any sports clothes that you fell comfortable in. When you are at the tennis lesson, you need to have full attention and concentration. You're not supposed to have your mind wandering around and thinking about something else. Try to concentrate and be mentally on the tennis court. Also, when the teacher tells you something, try not to get very much into details because there is a lot of information, especially if you're a beginner. Try to also use your visualization and visualize how to hit the ball. Another thing, obviously, is it's very important to find someone you connect with and someone who can have very good communication skills because sometimes if someone explains you something in one way, you might not understand it and that person, your teacher, should be willing to explain to you how to hit the shot, you know, in a different way so you can understand it well. So, again, very important that you come to the lesson very well rested, you concentrate, you visualize, you have the fire in your eyes, and you have someone you connect with and you're gonna have so much fun if you have all those components.
