How to Practice Your Golf Game

Learn how to practice your golf game from golf pro Michael Samaniego in this Howcast golf video.

Hi, my name is Michael Samaniego golf professional at Chalk Mountain Golf Course. Chalk Mountain Golf Course is a championship level golf course with 3 professional golfers, including myself. And today I'm going to talk to you about golf. Let's talk about how to practice your golf game. Remember there are different aspects of the game. We've got putting, we have short swing, and we have full swing. When you come out to your facility, your practice facility, spend a good portion of your practice time on the putting surface. 49% of all of our strokes of 18 holes are right here on the putting surface. So practice your putting. Dedicate maybe about 35 minutes or so to putting. And then progress to the next stage, to chipping, and make the swing longer. Spend about 30 minutes or so chipping. And then when you've finished your chipping, then you can go to full swing to start hitting the full swing shots. Graduate from your shortest club, chipping wedge, and then move through each of the clubs, the chipping wedge, eight iron, seven iron, your longer clubs, your hybrids, your fairway woods, then end your practice session with your driver. Remember, dedicate your time to good fundamental practice. The more you invest in good practice, the better the outcome.
