What Is Buddhist Astrology?

Learn about Buddhist astrology from astrology expert Lawrence Greco in this Howcast zodiac video.

My name is Lawrence Grecco. I live in New York City, and I'm a Life Coach and an Astrologer. I've been practicing Astrology for over 20 years. You can check out my website at I'm here to talk to you today about Horoscopes.
I like to combine my Buddhist practice with my astrology practice. So essentially Astrology is a wonderful tool to help people to get to know themselves better and Buddhism is the ultimate form of self-inquiry. So Buddhism is a form of self-inquiry through the process and practice of meditation. You know, when I practice astrology, I try to keep in mind um what the Buddha once said when he was asked what he did and what he said was he was interested in 2 things. Suffering and how to end suffering. So I try to make sure that in my readings and consultations and coaching sessions with people that I'm answering to those 2 questions, that um I'm helping people become aware of how they might be suffering fully and then helping them find a way to work through that suffering and attain a sense of well-being. So the Buddhist approach to astrology is one that involves a high degree of love and compassion so if we're approaching a client in a way that empowers them to make decisions for themselves and to understand what kind of obstacles or challenges they might face um either during certain time periods in their life or in general then that could be a wonderful way of helping them um work through these difficult situations and attain uh some piece of mind and some direction in life. it's really important to empower a client and not to foster any sense of dependency on the coach or astrologer. So I make sure that people realize that they're already inherently perfect as they are which is what the Buddha taught that all of us are born with original goodness and a perfect nature so no matter how difficult life might seem or someone's problems might seem it's important that people understand they have all the tools within them to attain a sense of balance and equanimity in their life
