I'm Erin Goettlicher, and I'm a professional softball coach. After I played through high school, I went out and played for college level, and then spent a cup of tea at the professional level. I'm self-employed, and own Pro Softball Training. Pro Softball Training offers instruction in all kinds of softball. You name it, we can do it. Today, I will be talking to you about softball. There are several different things you can look for when you're purchasing a softball glove. Most importantly you need to determine what position are you mostly going to be using that softball glove for. A lot of people are just going to buy a standard dealing glove. Those gloves are going to be typically between twelve inches, and thirteen inches in length. If you're going to be buying a more specific glove, per se, a catchers mit, it's going to have a little bit more padding, or a first baseman's glove. A first baseman's glove has a little bit larger pocket. It helps with a little more digging of the balls out of the dirt for bad throws. Next you're gonna want to look for something that fits your hand well. It's important that it fits onto your hand and you're comfortable wearing that glove. There's several different types of pockets that you can purchase. Different shapes. Some are fully enclosed webbing. Some are split a little bit differently, however it's mostly just personal preference when it comes to the web style. Gloves also come in different types of leathers and colors, and that's kind of your personal preference as well. Depending on how long you think you're going to keep that glove or if you're looking for real length and longevity of the glove, you're gonna have to spend a little bit more to get, you know, a higher quality leather. For the most part what's important is that it fits comfortably for you and it's comfortable on your own hand. Make sure you try them on so that it feels right, and throw a few balls into that glove too, just to make sure you got something comfortable.
