Hello, my name is Carolyn Dean, I'm a medical doctor and a naturopathic doctor and I live in beautiful Maui. Dr. Periccone is a dermatologist. So, he thinks that sugar and flour and white rice are evil. He says that sugar causes inflammation in the body that leads to wrinkling and leads to aging. It's a celebrity diet. It's also a huge industry, and it's also a diet that's very fear-based. I mean he'll tell you that your orange juice and cereal in the morning are going to turn you into a wrinkled old man or woman. So, his solution is a high protein diet. It's very restrictive. He restricts even beef and animal protein, at the same time, he's giving you a high protein diet. He says it's anti-inflammatory. Now in my work with yeast overgrowth, I find that sugars feed yeast and other intestinal organisms, and that's the basis of the inflammation. So the focus shouldn't be just on starving the yeast, but also on mechanisms and therapists to kill the yeast. So to do it just with the diet, I think it's very difficult and then the program includes three phases, and these three phases are anti-inflammatory diet that's very restrictive, supplements to the tune of about 25 supplements a day which Dr. Periccone sells and cosmetic products that you apply externally that Dr. Periccone sells. I think it's too much of a fad diet and too focused on his industry and not on giving people the tools they need to lose weight.
