My name is Jacqueline Bush and I'm an editorial in celebrity hairstyles. My clientele has included Faith Hill, Mark Ruffalo, Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jane Krakowski. I want to be able to show you that hair isn't as intimidating or as hard as you think it is and I want you be able to have fun with it and do what your vision is with your hair
So now I'm going to talk to you about how to get shiny hair. Now there are a couple things that you can do. The first is using a hair oil or hair serum, which I do have another clip on how to use hair oil and hair serum. The thing with shiny hair is that obviously if your hair lacks shine, and lacks moisture. So what you want to do is balance out what you are missing. Now if you're on the run, you just finished your blow-drying, you wonder why does my hair still look dry? You can throw in a little bit, a dime sized amount of hair oil or hair serum. Another thing that you can use is a shine palm aid, which I'm going to use a little bit of on our model today.
This one's clear, but I started out with a dime sized amount. And that's mainly because she already has some product in her hair. But I always like to start with shine product. I always say start with less, you can always add more. Because if you have fine hair, it can weigh your hair down. It can also make your hair style, if you have curling, it can make your hair drop. So you want to use it sparingly. And what I'm doing right now is I'm just putting it in, starting out with the very tips of her hair. Working that through the tips. Then I'll work my way up to the mid-shaft. You always start at the lowest point. And then move forward. Work that in.
As you can see, she does have some nice shine going on which we gave her with some nice shine palm aid and hair oil.
Another trick you can do to get shine. A couple things. You can take B complex vitamins. They help your hair, nails grow healthy, strong, shiny. Another trick you can do is with the blow dryer. After you blow dry your hair. You blow dry it on hot, get it nice and heated up. At the very end, you finished your whole style. You're going to take your blow dryer, turn it all the way to the coldest setting and then you're going to blow dry it really quick. And what that does is lock in all these, lock in your style. Lock in all these little frizzies into the cuticle. Whatever you've laid down as your styling with the blow dryer. It's going to lock all that in and it's going to give your hair that extra shine.
You can also use shine hairsprays or even, you can use shine spray products. gloss shine. Again, with these, I like to be really careful, use them sparingly. I always start out at the bottom, and then work my way up. And as you notice, I really don't put in too much. It depends on how strong the product is. This one I know is really strong. So I like to start out with less and then add more.
You can also use a shine spray that's a finishing spray. A hairspray that has some shine in it, that can give you some more shine as well. And if you really want an at home remedy. You have very dry hair, trying to get a little extra shine.
You can do an at home remedy of just putting, washing your hair, getting out of the shower with wet hair. And you can put either olive oil or coconut in it. Put it up in a shower cap. Sit for about 20 minutes. Then go back to the shower. Wash it, condition as normal, and it's going to help your hair shine as well.
So those are my tricks for how to get shiny hair.
