My name's Dana Dunn. I've been working in the piercing business going on 6 years now. I do typically about 3,000 to 4,000 a year. I work at Pins and Needles Tattoo. We have a website pinsandneedlesportland.com. Piercing is my life and I'm going to talk to you about body piercing. Again, with the nipple piercing, the after care of it is just anti-bacterial soap, the best thing to do is just keep it right in the shower. Because the body wash, the perfumes in the body wash, the dyes, everything like that can um, irritate the piercing. Again, just dial soap, any type of anti-bacterial soap in the shower with you. Right before you get out, wash your hands really, really well. Wash it, rotate the jewelry as good as you can. A hoop is your best bet because you can rotate it more, you can get the soap in there, you can clean it very well. When you first get it done, I strongly recommend when it comes to your shirts and everything like that, um, I recommend making sure that your laundry detergent is a free detergent. Not having any dyes or any perfumes or anything like that. Uh, just Because it will uh, heal up. And when it comes to females, a lot people ask if you can or can't wear a bra or sleeping, or anything like that. And a bra is actually causes pressure on the hoops, and it keeps it flat down, so it won't irritate it or anything like that. So a bra or a sports bra is your best bet.
