Hi, I'm Lisa Dawn Angerame. I'm one of the founding partners of Nava NYC, a collective of nine yoga and meditation teachers in New York City. Our website is www.navanyc.com. Today, I will be talking to you about meditation.

Mantra meditation is a powerful meditation practice. A mantra is a word or a phrase that you say over and over again to yourself, while you're practicing meditation. And is a way of focusing your energy and your thoughts, so that you're not distracted by other things that are going on in your mind.

A mantra can be something as simple as, "Let go." So, come sit comfortably in this comfortable meditation seat, and close your eyes. On your inhale say, "Let," and on your exhale say, "go." The mantra is a way around your thoughts. Even if you find that you're distracted and you're off somewhere else in your meditation, bring yourself back to the mantra, as soon as you realize it. Inhale, "Let." Exhale, "Go."
