Hi, my name is Captain Layne Wagner of Hawk One Charters. I've been a captain for over 40 years. I've fished all over the world and now I'm up here in Long Island, New York. You can find me online at Hawk One Charters, www.hawkonecharters.com. I'll be talking to you today about saltwater fishing. There is basic knots I'll to teach beginning fishing. First one I'm going to show you is the Palomar knot going to use for visual aid for share do that often. First you develop up your fishing line. Imagine this is fishing rod. Put it through the either hole make a loop like that . And now take make a open hand knot, a simple overhand knot. At the other end knot there is the loop you made, put the hook through it and simply pull down on and all until it slides in tight. And here is your Palomar knot. Very simple knot. And take your tag take the log through the eye of the hook and come back and put it through the eye again. You need about I would say six inch circle. Once you have the circle make the over end knot. Its not as easy a little ox sling boom. Take the circle's nail and put the hook through it. Like that just pull then like that. And now what I'm going to say is is you are on your boat make sure you voice on your line otherwise it will weaken it. There is your Palomar knot.
