"My name is Jeff White and I am the research entomologist for Bed Bug central and the host of Bed Bug TV, Bedbugcentral.com. I have no idea how I got into bugs and bed bugs and here I am six years later and having a lot of fun working with bed bugs and I'll be talking to you about pest control.
Bugs are infesting your house and what are you going to do about it to get rid of them? You're going to go out and try to find a good pest control company. But what is a good pest control company? What defines a good pest control company? All great questions.
The first thing that you want to look for is if the company is associated with some sort of Better Business Bureau or other agency that is assuring that they are providing good business practices and you want to make sure that if you are hiring them that you are not getting ripped off per se. So make sure that they are affiliated with some sort of Better Business practice. There are some that are specifically associated with the pest control industry such as Quality Pro. There are others out there as well so see if they are a Quality Pro approved company or some other type of Better Business or Better Ethical Business practices association.
Lastly you want to see if they are part of the National Pest Management Association and what that is, is the association that is affiliated with the pest control industry and that makes sure that they are going to some sort of continuing education classes to make sure they are staying up with the current trends in the pest control industry and what are the best approaches to these different types of insects. But that then again, does not still assure that they are going to provide the right service for you and that in the end is the most important thing. It's finding the right company for you, find the company that fits what you are looking for. If you are an environmentally conscious person and you want to use all green products as part of your pest control services, you want to go out and look for a company that's affiliated with green services. You know, maybe they are using all natural products. Just be sure that you know that it may just cost more money to go with the green approach and sometimes the effects of that treatment may not be as short term as you are looking for, meaning that if you have a problem, it may not get better overnight if you take the green approach. So it may cost more money to be green but it may be the right fit for you and if that isn't what you are looking for and you want a quick knockdown and a quick service, one especially that costs a little bit less money, you may want to go with the more traditional approach but in the end the most important thing is to find the company that fits you best. That way you can get rid of those nasty critters that are running all over your house."
