What is Duck Pin bowling? Well, duck pin bowling is similar to ten pin bowling, it's primarily played on the east coast of the United States. Obviously it uses a different size pin and different size ball. The pin in duck pin bowling is only about 9 inches tall, 9.5 inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter. The bowling ball is about 5 inches in diameter with a maximum weight of about 4 pounds, it also does not have holes.

Duck pin bowling is scored similarly to ten pin bowling, if you get a strike on the first ball, it's counted the same as a strike in ten pin bowling. If you get all the pins down on the second ball it's a spare, and it's scored the same way. But, you're allowed a third shot in each frame. If you don't knock all the pins down on the first two balls, then you get a third shot and just get the total pin count that you knock down on that third shot.

The maximum score, the highest score ever recorded in duck pin bowling is 279, wherein 10 pin bowling it's 300.
