My name is Nicole Block of the Nic Studio. I do stationary and illustrations, and I specialize in custom wedding invitations and special event invitations. My website is thenicstudio.com and I'll be talking to you today about wedding invitations. Not all invitations need to have flowers on them or a monogram. You can get a little out there and add in some personal touches. And especially if you're doing custom invitations, you should put in personal touches. Little bits of information about you or your spouse that maybe nobody else knows or maybe everybody else knows and would want to see. Maybe it's about your travels, maybe it's about where you live, maybe it's just about where you're having your wedding but there's a reason why that's special to you. Get all the information to your designer and let them create something that's very personal to you and your spouse. Great example of this would be Betsy and Jeb's wedding invitation. Turns out that Betsy and Jeb really like olives. I don't really know why this mattered for their invitations but for them, it did. So we put in an olive branch which really made it a very pretty formal invite but then we continued that onto their RSVPs and put the Brooklyn Bridge inside because Brooklyn is where they live and it was also really important to them. And I drew out an olive tree that continued on to the menu card that had all these little olives in it but it also had this LOML in there and LOML for the couple, stood for Love Of My Life and this is something they used to sign notes to each other with or type in text messages to each other. Maybe guests asked them about it, maybe nobody asked them about it, maybe they guessed it themselves, who knows. But that's not really the point. I mean, the point is that there was a little bit of them in there everywhere and it made it that much more special for them and their guests.
