Hi, my name is Shir and I'm the founder and CEO of shirconsulting.com where we focus on converting the existing data from your business into massive savings and extraordinary profits. Today we're going to learn the basics of Excel. Let's get started.

So in order to move around the RIBBON, you need to know how it works and what it's comprised of. We have all these individual tabs for the RIBBON which we can click on each to bring it up. And within each of these tabs are groups of commands which we can click on. What's important to note is that when you see this triangle pointing down, it means there's more options. So instead of clicking on this cell over here and highlighting it in red, if I wanted to make the text a different color I would click down here and get more options. You can also click on these buttons over here which brings us to an even more detailed window which gives us more options over here.

With the keyboard we can do the same exact things using the "ALT" keys. Once you hit the "ALT" key, you get all these different letters popping up telling you which key corresponds to which tab. So if you press "M," you go to Formulas like that. If you press "N," you go to Name Manager like that.

And that's how to quickly navigate the RIBBON in Microsoft EXCEL 2010.
