My name is Kru Phil Nurse. I run a Muay Thai-style fighting gym in New York City called The Wat. We have some of the world champion fighters that trained at The Wat. If you want to find out more about The Wat, you can contact us at thewat.com. Today we're gonna be talking about the UFC. Randy Couture. Probably when you mention the name Randy Couture the first thing you think of is UFC and MMA fighting. Randy Couture is one of the pioneers of MMA fighting today. His base, um, for Randy is, I would say Greco-Roman, very good ground and pound, very good dirty boxing. Randy is just, Randy's the man. Excellent ground and pound. If you were in the octagon with Randy Couture, you're in with a legend for one, and someone who's coming to fight. Greco-Roman, for Randy Couture, that was his roots, that was his base. So when Randy got in close and kind of got tight in into the clench quarters or the Greco-Roman quarters, I would say, he's going to take you down, he's going to ground and pound you, he's going to stand up and pound you. That was a lot of trouble for alot of opponents. Once he got actually in, that was his comfort. That was his thing. He just took people apart when he got them there.
