Hi, my name's Dan Delavan. I'm the owner-operator of Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, California. We have a great selection. We also have a website, plazacutlery.com. And today we're going to be talking about knives.

Buck Knives is an American Company. It started in 1902, and they were based here in California. They're now based out of Idaho. They're primarily known for their hunting knives, and for making making their Folding Hunter. Was their most popular knife that originally put them on the map. That would be this knife here. And at the time, pressing the bar, releasing the blade, it was a very simple operation but they were the only ones that were doing it. And to open it, where you don't have the thumbstuds now, you could still open it one-handed, it just took a little bit of practice to get it down. It came in the black leather sheath. A lot of bikers, a lot of hunters, everybody carried a Buck Folding Hunter. We sold a ton of them for years.

But they were also known for their hunting knives. This is the Buck Special, that they made Skinner, Fisherman, Caper. A lot of different hunting knives that were widely used and still widely used today. They still are at the forefront of producing modern style hunting knives. And they've made some specialized knives, some collectors' knives, over the years. It's still primarily owned by the Buck family of Chuck Buck Senior and Junior that are currently running it. And they are still specializing mostly in hunting knives, and doing just a little bit of tractical knives.
