Troubleshooting Kinect Audio Problems

Learn how to troubleshoot Kinect audio problems in this Kinect for Xbox video from Howcast.

So, if you are having audio problems with your Kinect, this is what you're gonna do. You're gonna go to your kinect hub and you're gonna locate the Kinect tuner option. Now, in order to continue on, you're gonna need your trusty controller. You're going to prompt on the screen to hit the 'A' button and it brings you out to this menu. This is kind of like our little troubleshooting section where you can deal with audio, visual and calibration. We're gonna focus on audio. So, there I'm, hi, and I'm gonna click on audio and this noise comes out. OK, it says that my background levels are working in golden. So, we hit next and then it's going to check your speaker body. Now, be careful if you have surround sounds because it could get loud. Isn't that lovely music? (laughs) It shows here that our super body is OK as well. So, we're gonna continue on and we're gonna calibrate. So, now my microphone is calibrated and I'm moving on to the last part of this setup, which is the microphone calibration. Hit next, um, this also goes into our chat microphone, you do wanna keep this on, especially if you're using the chat options. So, we're gonna keep it on and then we're gonna talk. One, two, three, four, five, and they can hear me. So, after all these series of test, you should be golden. And, you get this 'some word' little speech recognition, you have successfully done it. And, that's how you setup your audio with the kinect.
