My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect wedding.
In the summer, it's a wonderful time to get married because prices are generally cheaper, vendors will give you a better deal than they'll give you the other times of the year. It's nice to get married outdoors in the summer obviously with rain contingencies. But there are many, many spaces that have indoor and outdoor, which is really nice for summer. Generally you would do the dancing in the indoors because you would need the air conditioning but certainly the cocktails and the ceremony where ever they might be outside under the sky, there's nothing more beautiful. A summer bride gets to wear a very light, loose comfortable dress and lets her hair flow and grooms get to wear other things besides tuxedos they can wear linen. A summer wedding can be a very, very enjoyable event.
