My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect wedding.
When hiring a photographer one has the ability to go through the highlights of the day in advance. So you make sure the photographer does not miss any of the key moments. Probably the most important is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time. So there should be a specific time and place for that so that you don't end up passing each other in the elevator or the hallway or wherever you have to be. You also want to see everybody walking down the isle. You want to see the kiss. You want to see the first dance, cake cutting and any expressions on the bride and groom's faces when anybody is making a speech. Bride and groom dancing during the night, interacting with the most important people. If you give the photographer a list of who the most important people of the wedding are, then chances are you will get pictures with them. But they are not mind readers so the more written information you give the photographer for the day of the wedding, the happier you'll be at the end of the night.
