How to Play a Major Triad on Bass Guitar

Learn how to play major triads on the bass guitar from musician John Sutton in this online guitar lesson from Howcast.

Transcript

A major triad is the 1st, 3rd, and 5th note of any major scale. In the case of C, as an example, the three notes in the major triad would be C, E, and G. We can practice the C major triad by starting at any of those three notes. On the root, on the 3rd, and on the 5th. So, we can practice repeating the C major triad, along with all the other triads all around the bass by starting them on each note within the triad. And that's the basics to understanding triads and playing triads on the bass guitar.
