How to Deal with Middle School Crushes

Learn how to deal with middle school crushes from expert Alexis in this Howcast video.

You know that feeling when you get to school and you make eye contact with that special guy or girl, and your entire day improves instantly? Or if you get to school and they're not there you kind of feel like you're missing out on something? You have a crush, here's how to survive it.

To start, once you realize you have a crush on someone, I know you just want to tell everybody how amazing it is, and how amazing he is or she is, and how perfect they are in every way and how perfect you guys would be together. But try and try and try to keep it to yourself. You don't want everyone talking about it and you definitely don't want them to find out.

If you feel like you really need to vent, talk to your pet, or write in a journal, or maybe find one friend that you know you can trust. But try not to tell everybody in school. Do you and your crush have any mutual friends? See if you can organize some sort of casual hang out situation with a bunch of people. That way you can talk to your crush without making it obvious that you like them.

That being said, don't be afraid to start direct conversation with your crush. I mean obviously you want to get to know them better, right? See if you can talk to them about things you guys have in common without seeming too overbearing. And finally, if your crush doesn't like you back, or has feelings for someone else, it is devasting, and I completely understand.

It could be for a number of reasons, and you really shouldn't take it personally. Bedsides, as soon as you fell for that crush, you could quickly be on to someone else. You shouldn't let your crush, crush you.
