Learn how to do an extension prep into a cradle from UCA instructor Ashley Cowan of Varsity.com in this Howcast video.

Transcript

The extension prep is a stunt that you can use on the sidelines with poms and signs and in cheerleading routines. The extension prep involves two bases, a back spot and a top person. Cheerleading skills including stunts, pyramids and basket tosses should only be performed under the supervision of a qualified adult and after following the proper skill progressions. Before doing this stunt, make sure that you have mastered all the basic stunting drills.

Here are a few tips for the extension prep. One, bases should generate power using their legs and drive the top person above their eyes before settling into the extension prep. Two, tops should stand up quickly as the bases stand up and keep feet shoulder width apart. Three, back spot should help lift the top person and continue to help support the stunt. That's how you do an extension prep.
