Being a game designer is not just about having a great idea. It's kind of like, there are people in Hollywood who want to have their movie made and they've written a script and they think it's the best thing ever. But really, being a game designer is about being a good communicator and being a team player and someone who understands all the aspects that go into making a good game. So there's a lot more to being a game designer than just having a good idea. It requires someone have an understanding of the different roles that are required to make the game. So the technical, artistic roles, even the production roles to really be able to put themselves into the mindset of the player when they're playing the game. So you have to be able to imagine what is the experience, what do I want the person to feel, what should they be thinking about right now so that I can anticipate what's going to happen later. And that's a skill set that's really hard to come across. So there are a lot of different roles in game design. But if you want to be a game designer with a capital D, the Game Designer, you have to really know a whole lot about a whole lot of things.
