The routes of Chiropractics can be traced back to China and Greece to the earliest recorded history. Hippocrates who was a famous Greek physician who lived around 400 B.C. discussed the importance of understanding and knowing the anatomy of the spine because it was the prerequisite of many diseases. Chiropractic was founded in the United States by Daniel David Palmer in 1895. So it's a little over 100 years old. I think it's interesting that Chiropractic is a uniquely American healing art. Dr. Palmer founded the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. That is one of the prominent Chiropractic colleges to this day in the United States. Chiropractors are licensed in all 50 states and all Providences of Canada. What is interesting in that chiropractic is growing even faster internationally. Now more then 60 countries regulate chiropractic internationally. Chiropractors have also gained acceptance and are practicing in more diverse health care settings then ever before. In addition to practicing in private practices there are chiropractors now teaching and practicing at teaching hospitals around the country, in rehab centers, even the Olympics and almost every single professional sports team using chiropractic as part of their healthcare team.
