My name is Dr. Karen Erickson, and I'm a chiropractor practicing in New York City for over 20 years. My passion is bringing chiropractic and its vitalistic philosophy of health into the forefront of healthcare in the United States.
Just like seeing a dentist, I believe that most people would benefit by including periodic chiropractic care into their overall health care regime. I became a pioneer in integrative healthcare when I was the first chiropractor credentialed by a teaching hospital in the United States, when I joined the Continuum Center for Health and Healing at Beth Israel Medical Center here in New York City. I've authored 2 book chapters, one on chiropractic and integrative healthcare, and another on pediatric chiropractic. I serve on the board of trustees at New York Chiropractic College and am a media spokesperson for the American Chiropractic Association. In my own practice, I use a combination of techniques with my patients, including traditional and non-force chiropractic adjusting techniques, massage and myofascial release, cranio-sacral therapy, advice on exercise and diet, essential oils and homeopathics.
