Now I'm going to demonstrate how to do a reaching crunch on an exercise ball. Pretty much exactly what it says in its name, you're going to lie back, get a good stretch, and pretend like you're reaching to the ceiling.
You're literally going to try to tap the ceiling with your fingertips. Notice I try not to rock too much. I use my abs to bring me up, my upper abdominals.
Keep your feet from moving around as well. And notice I do hold that contraction for about a one or two count. Come back. You get a nice extension. And come back up and reach to the ceiling again.
So this is a good exercise to warm up with, to really get the back is fine, to get the abs, stretched out. More of a beginner exercise because you don't really have to worry about too much resistance on the lower abdominals. Okay. And that's how you properly do a sit and reach crunch on an exercise ball.
