You might have heard about acai and goji berries and you're wondering are these super foods or is this super hype?
Well, berries are berries. Most berries are going to be higher in antioxidants than other food, which does make acai and goji berries a great addition to your breakfast or your smoothies or for a snack.
But there is a little bit of hype going on. I don't believe that acai or goji berries are going to cure your illnesses or change your body overnight.
One of the benefits of acai and goji berries is that you get them dried. We don't really get them fresh or seasonally, because they come to us packaged dried. You can add them year-round to your breakfast, to your smoothies or as a snack.
When it comes to the race between which is better for you, acai or goji, I think acai actually has some more health benefits to it. Acai is slightly higher in antioxidants as well as iron, calcium and omega-3s, which are sadly lacking from most of our diets. If you are looking for a super food to add to your daily diet, go ahead and get yourself some acai berries.
You're probably going to be improving your diet overall by including more berries in general. So, go get yourself some nice organic strawberries and some blueberries or some cranberries.
