How to Be More Optimistic

Learn how to be more optimistic from life coach Stephanie Florman in this Howcast video.

Optimism is a state of mind. It's a decision to process the experiences in your life in such a way where you think that everything is happening for you. And you choose to make all of your experiences work to your benefit in some way. Now as somebody who is an optimist, you know I actually find people who are you know, overly optimistic very annoying. And the reason why I find them annoying is because there's a sense that it's not real. They're over-compensating in some way. Somebody who is genuinely happy, someone who is genuinely optimistic doesn't need to prove it. They don't need to talk about it. They don't walk into a space and say I'm so happy or I'm such an optimist. They just have that philosophy. It's their commitment to processing their life in a certain way. I would actually steer very clear of someone who is trying to convince you that they're an optimist, because the reality is that they're trying to convince themselves that they're an optimist and so when it comes to optimistic thinking it's really just a decision to process your life in a way where you are looking at the events that are unfolding around you and thinking about how you can use them to your benefit. And trusting that some greater good will come as a result.
