Natural Foods vs. Organic Foods

So you often get asked, what are natural foods? And actually there are some regulations around, how food companies can use the word natural, in their labelling. Natural actually means no artificial ingredients. So that would be no food coloring, no preservatives or if it's a, you know animal protein it;s used with minimal amount of antibiotics. But in general the word natural in labelling is not monitored as strictly as it could be. So there is a lot of leeway when it comes to labelling in what the word natural means. So if you are really looking for foods, that are natural, pure, and whole, the best way to really determine that is to look for the organic label. And the organic label is much more regulated; when something is labelled organic, that means that no artificial preservatives can be used during the growing process. So if you are looking for a labelling guideline that will help you determine if there are preservatives in a product, the word natural is one way to do that.
