Today, we're going to learn to do Beyonce curls with a flat iron.
The most important thing with a flat iron, is if you walk away from it for any amount of time, always use a towel or tissue to get rid of the excess heat.
You don't want to put it right on your hair. If you have extensions, you don't want to do it on that either. Any hair will burn if the flat iron is too hot.
First, what we're going to do is take a small section of hair. The smaller the section, the smaller the curl. We're going to take a small section of hair, and use Ellin Lavar natural control hairspray. It gives a light hold. It's not a stiff hold.
There are two ways that you could do curls with a flat iron. You can take the flat iron, turn it to about 45 to 180 degrees and just pull it. Let the hair pull over it, because the hair is then turned over the top of the flat iron. Then, let it drop and now, you have a curl.
You can also take the flat iron and wrap the hair around it. As you wrap the hair around the flat iron, you pull it down the length of the hair. You let it go and get a tighter curl.
Today, we're just going to do some loose curls to get that Beyonce look, which is full, curly, and soft.
I'm combining the curls, the tight curls and loose curls, because I don't want it to look too uniform.
We're going to finish up on the bottom now. Take a little larger section, and then, just finger your hair very soft. There's a lot of curls to cool. Don't manipulate them too much.
Now you have Beyonce hair.
