Learn how to do the kickboxing basic fight stance from Mushin MMA's Sean Hinds in this muay Thai training video from Howcast.
So we are going to start off with the basic fight stance. So I want to start with my left leg in front, bring my right leg maybe out a foot length behind, feet shoulder width apart. Having good balance and hands up. Now if you are a South paw you are just going to be in the same position but, feet switched the other way and hands up. So, I really like to do when I start in the fight position is the movement drill, where I move forward, move backwards always maintaining feet shoulder width apart. So when I go forward, I want to go with the lead leg first., skip in, and go forward. When I come back I go with the rear leg first, and then come back always making sure I keep feet shoulder width apart. Off to the left and then off to the right, keeping feet shoulder width apart.
